How to build a Gift action for your Cliently Flows

Learn how to create and setup gifts to send out to your Cliently contacts/leads!

Focus: The focus of this public FAQ/Self Help guide is to provide you an overview and details about building Cliently flows with Gift action.

What is a Gift Action and why should I send one? A Gift Action allows you to send a Gift card and one handwritten note to ship directly to your potential leads/contacts. The goal of the gift and handwritten note is to create a super personal touch during the sales process - usually as a closing action or follow-up to an already established conversation. At this point, the lead already knows you by name and may even have had a conversation with you on the phone or in person. Ideally, this would be the encouragement to open the letter - the personalization and the name recognition.

What are Cliently Flows?: A flow is a list of items based upon “actions” that were added. For Example: Send email, wait 1 day, Send Video message, wait 2 days, Send Gift. Learn more about using Cliently flows by checking out our overview.

Cliently credits used?: Yes, Sending a Cliently Gift costs credits depending on the denomination of the gift card and 8 credits for the handwritten note and shipping delivery. Learn more about Cliently Credits.

How long does it take for the Gift to be delivered?  Cliently will be using USPS for sending out Gifts. For United States addresses it takes between 3-5 days. 

What steps can I do to make sure the Gift is delivered? – Contact’s Address –Before assigning your flows that include Gifts, Double check the physical address found on the contact record! Make sure there is a valid: First Name, Last Name, Address (Line 1 and 2), City, State, and Country.

Step 1: Creating a new Flow with Gift Action We start by Going to Flows > New Flow.

Step 1-A: Flow Settings Next, give your flow a name and check options for “Stop Workflow” or “unsubscribe”. Click Save.

Pro-Tip: Name your flows accordingly, so you know from the title of the flow what is included in the flow!

Step 2: Gift Action. Next, we need to add the Gift Action. Click on the Gift action, to add it to your flow.

Step 3: Customize the Gift. Next, we have added the Gift action, now let’s choose a gift card and customize it.

Step 3-A: Choose the gift Card  Cliently offers the following gift cards. Choose from the following options:

  • AirBnb

  • Amazon

  • Best Buy

  • Dunkin’ Donuts

  • Ebay

  • Fandango

  • Gas Station Gift Card

  • Home Depot

  • Ruth Chris

  • Starbucks

  • Uber

  • Williams and Sonoma

Step 3-B: Setup the Gifting Action. Next you will need to setup the Gift Card:

  1. Load the Card with:  Here you choose the domination for the Gift card and the amount of Cliently Credits it will charge you.

  2. Add a return address: Please fill out all the fields for the section.

Please note: you can only send 1 GIFT card per each Gift Action created. 

  1. Message: Add a Personalized message that will be handwritten by Cliently to send out to your recipients, up to 200 characters. Please note: you can also use “Cliently Tokens” to populate your account details and contacts details in this message.

Once Done, be sure to Click the blue “Save button”.

Step 3-C: Gift has been completed and ready to be used.

Step 4: Add more Actions… Excellent job, now you have completed your first Gift action in a flow. You can add other action items in your flow!

Step 5: Enable the flow to be used… Finally, we have to enable the flow to be used for our Contacts. Click on the on/off slider toggle to enable.

Congratulations, you have setup your first Gift Action Flow… 

Step 6: Using the flow. Now you have built your flow, now you can add them to your existing contacts/leads. Open the existing contact and add the flow on the right side.

Step 7: Action Analytics. At this time, we do not provide specific analytics for each Gift action, however, we will let you know when the Gift card has been processed, which will include a tracking number.

What happens next? Your gift card will be processed by a Cliently Team member and we will update you soon! If they are any problems with the amount of Credits you have in your account, Cliently will contact you!

Step 8: Deals > Flow Review - Gift Information. Once it has been processed by a Cliently Team member, you will see updates in the Gift action and will be provided, Shipping date and tracking number for the Gift card. Please note: Cliently Credits will be deducted when the Gift has been completed.

Track the Gift?: At anytime, you can track your gift by copying the tracking number and using this USPS Tracking tool.

Example of the created Gift from the Cliently Team Includes Handwritten Envelope, Note and Starbucks Gift Card.
